DVD Cover Project

1. Find a DVD cover that you are going to MODEL yours after (you can use Google Images, Wikipedia, Internet Movie Database, etc.)
2. The DVD cover can be for a movie, TV series, a story you make up, the story of your life, a video game made in to a movie, whatever you like....just make sure that you are picking a subject that will has a chance of being believable.
3. Use your skills in Photoshop to manipulate images and create something colorful, creative, imaginative, believeable, etc.
4. Open the file "dvd-cover-template.psd" in Photoshop and begin building upon it. This template will help you keep the correct dimensions of a DVD cover. When you open this file in Photoshop keep it at the very bottom of your layer palette, everything will build on top of it.
5. Install the Photoshop brush set (dvd-symbols.abr) and use the brushes to make your DVD cover look more realisic. I will demonstrate to the class how to do this.
6. As always, the most important thing is to use your imagination and be creative.

This is an activity to see how creative you can be.....NOT to see how well you place an existing cover in the template I provided.

You should be layering in different elements (images, text, etc.) NOT just using an exisiting peice and calling it done.
